A mountain pasture has to go with a farm - that's the same with us.
Our alp is beautifully situated above the Gastein valley. The alp is also open in summer. You can comfortably reach it by cable car "Mittelstation" (middle exit) and a 30 min. walk along a beautiful fire-road, or you take a 2 ½ hours walk from the valley and enjoy the marvelous view to "Bernkogel" (impressive mountain). For mountain bikers that's also a beautiful trail starting at Dorfgastein, crossing "das Bergl" - and then gathering strength again at "Wengeralm".

Our alp is ideal for family celebrations, weddings, and parties of different groups - the ideal destination.
Time's up when you simply got sausage, bacon and bread on the alp. You can still get that, but our cook can do more. Try dumplings, cabbage, "Germkrapfen" (yeast cruller) - we always use the best products.
Of course also the sausages are something special. We've decided to take our own way and use our own products to serve the guests. We consequently follow that guideline.
The restaurant on the mountain
Our "Wengeralm" is for sure a restaurant on the mountain. It is furnished esthetically with old wood. There's always a comfortable and familiar place to sit down for our house guests - also sitting together with Stefan and Waltraud, the "masters" of this place. |
